Nose Clinic

The UK-Tunisia patient journey

In short: your first consultation is remote (video or phone). If surgery is appropriate and you decide to go ahead, you travel to Tunis, have an in-person pre-operative consultation (usually the day before surgery), then your operation. The standard stay is 5 nights - 2 nights in the clinic and 3 nights' recovery accommodation (hotel, full board) - and can be extended to 8 nights if you prefer to have your splint removed in Tunis before flying home. Follow-up after you return to the UK is remote. Rhinoplasty is only suitable for adults (18+) after an individual assessment.

Step by step

  1. Initial consultation (remote). By video or phone: your goals, medical history and photos are reviewed, and the surgeon discusses whether surgery is appropriate - and may advise against it.
  2. Planning and travel. If you decide to proceed, you arrange your trip to Tunis. Return flights are not included in the package and should be budgeted separately, along with travel insurance covering elective surgery and complications.
  3. Pre-operative consultation (in Tunis). An in-person examination with Dr Hendaoui, usually the day before surgery, to confirm the plan and answer your questions.
  4. Surgery. Your operation, under general anaesthetic, in a private clinic in Tunis.
  5. Recovery on site. A 5-night stay in total: 2 nights in the clinic for monitoring, then 3 nights' recovery accommodation (hotel, full board). The stay can be extended to 8 nights to have your splint removed in Tunis before you travel.
  6. Fit to fly, then home. The surgeon confirms you are fit to travel and gives you written aftercare instructions.
  7. Follow-up (remote). Once home, you have remote follow-up and can reach an English-speaking coordinator by WhatsApp or email - see aftercare in the UK.

What the package includes

Your package (from £2,200) covers the surgery, surgeon's fee, clinic care, anaesthesia, airport transfers and the 5-night stay described above. Flights and travel insurance are not included. For the full breakdown and a UK comparison, see rhinoplasty cost: UK vs Tunisia.

Where consultations happen

  • Before surgery: initial consultation remote; pre-operative consultation in person in Tunis.
  • After surgery: follow-up remote once you are back in the UK, with local NHS/GP care for anything urgent.
